Coastal Water Authority Announces Jonathan Mathers as Government Relations Manager
HOUSTON, Texas — The Coastal Water Authority (CWA) has named Jonathan Mathers as its Government Relations Manager, strengthening the Authority’s engagement with state and local policymakers and regional stakeholders.
CWA is a regional raw drinking water provider serving municipal and industrial customers across Harris, Chambers, and Liberty counties. Through its major pumping and conveyance systems, CWA delivers the raw water that supports communities, industry, and continued economic growth across the Upper Gulf Coast of Texas.
Mathers joins CWA following service with the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB), where he worked on legislative and governmental affairs involving state water policy, infrastructure, and funding. His experience also includes service in both chambers of the Texas Legislature, including as Chief of Staff to former State Representative Bill Callegari, a longtime Houston-area legislator and engineer, as well as service in the Texas Senate with Senator Drew Springer.
“Jonathan brings valuable experience in the Texas Legislature, state water policy, and government relations,” said Greg Olinger, CWA Executive Director. “His background and relationships will strengthen CWA’s ability to communicate our mission, build lasting partnerships, and advocate for the long-term water needs of the communities and industries we serve.”
