To facilitate safe and reliable contractor access to the pump station site, pipeline alignment and segment 5 of the canal system the existing gravel/dirt road at Capers Ridge will need to be improved. The road is approximately 5.8 miles in length. Improvements need include widening to 22-feet to allow 2-way traffic, improving sub-base soils, adding base materials, adding drainage ditches and drainage crossings (culverts), clearing vegetation to improve site distances and adding traffic signs.

The road improvements were designed by Nathelyne A. Kennedy and Associates.   The design began in May 2015 and was completed in August 2015. Contractor procurement was completed in 1Q 2016 with mobilization in April 2016.  The project will be completed in September 2016.
